HHS Lions May 19-20, 2010 Woodward

Art I-  Semester tests were given Wednesday (2nd and 6th hour). We also went over the semester test in all classes.  Students saw their grade for the test.

Pass Objectives: 1.1, 1.2, 2.1, 3.1, 3.2, 3.3, 3.4, 4.2, 4.3

Art III-   We went over the semester test.  Students saw their grade for the test.

Art History- Semester tests were given Wednesday.  Thursday students attended an awards ceremony.

HHS Lions May 17-18 2010 Woodward

Art I- Students reviewed for the semester test. Tuesday, students were tested during 1st and 5th hour.

Art III- Students reviewed for the semester test. Tuesday, students were tested during 3rd hour.

Art History- Students reviewed for the semester test. Tuesday, students were given awards for their achievements this year in art history.

HHS Lions May 14, 2010 Woodward

Art I-  Students reviewed for the semester tests. Students were graded on participation.

Pass Objectives: 1.1, 1.2, 2.1, 3.1, 3.2, 3.3, 3.4, 4.2, 4.3

Art III-   The Gold painting was due and students were graded on participating on the semester review.

Art History-  Students watched a DVD about Post Impressionism and read pages 494- 500.

HHS Lions May 12-13, 2010 Woodward

Art I-  Independent drawings #2 and #3- students must show what they have learned this school year.

Pass Objectives: 1.1, 1.2, 2.1, 3.1, 3.2, 3.3, 3.4, 4.2, 4.3

Art III-   Students worked on the underpainting for the ‘Gold’ project. Students are painting an object that will appear gold.

Pass Objectives: 1.1, 1.2, 3.1, 3.2, 3.3, 3.4, 4.2, 4.3

Art History-  Students took notes on the Post Impression Power Point and lecture.  We discussed Picasso, Braque, and Beardsley. We also discussed the importance Oscar Wilde’s ‘Salome’ and Picasso’s painting ‘Guernica.’ Students also read pages 487-491 and 494- 500.

Pass Objectives: 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4, 2.5

Standard 1.1.5 Copy familiar words for labeling, identifying, and organizing purposes.

Unit 3, lesson 3 –  shows the user how to communicate about the languages that they do and do not speak and write.  Users learn names of several languages and the numbers from 30 to 60.

Students are also labeling maps of Spanish speaking countries.  We are using maps and google earth to visit Spanish speaking countries.  Today we used an on line map puzzle to practice country locations.

HHS Lions May 10-11, 2010 Woodward

Art I-  Independent drawings- students must show what they have learned this school year.

Art III-   Thumbnails for the gold painting due.  I gave a demonstration on how to paint the illusion of gold with yellow and brown paint.

Pass Objectives: 1.1, 1.2, 3.1, 3.2, 3.3, 3.4, 4.2, 4.3

Art History-  Students took notes on the Post Impressionism Power Point and lecture. We discussed artists such as Paul Cezanne, Vincent van Gogh, Seurat, and Lautrec.

Pass Objectives: 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4, 2.5
