Focus Skill: Word Relationships

Objectives: To use word relationships to determine meaning

Activity: Students reviewed their homework assignment due today. We discuss the worksheets that covered the skills of word relationships such as context clues, synonyms and antonyms, as well as multiple meaning words. Students confirmed their answers or corrected their choices.

Focus Skill: Reading and understanding an informational narrative

Objective: to read and answer comprehension questions over this week’s reading selection, “Fly Traps! Plants that Bite Back”

Activity: Students answered comprehension questions over their reading selection that would better prepare them for their comprehension test on Friday. These questions included compare and  contrast, author’s viewpoint, confirming predictions, drawing conclusions, classifying, sequencing and main idea.

Moodle Assignment

Objective: To provide additional  on-line practice on skills that correlate with this week’s objectives (See Above)

Activity: Students worked on their moddle assignments upon completion of their comprehension questions. This activity in an ongoing, on-line assignment  that is instructed throughout the week.
