Middle School Science

6th Grade
Objective: Students worked on their boards (if they had them) and the rest of the students worked on A+ Science.
PASS: All Skills
Reflection: I still have some students who have not brought their boards.

7th Grade
Objective: Students worked on A+ Science and they also looked at their classmates’ insect projects.
PASS: Diversity of Life
Reflection: I have some really creative 7th graders!

8th Grade
Objective: Students worked on A+ Science.
PASS: All PASS Skills
Reflection: My 8th graders worked so hard today!!!!!

7th Grade English
Objective: We Really Shine Program
Reflection: none

Reading: Journal Writing Day! (What I want to be when I grow up)
Song: Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star
High Frequency Word Review: and, here, me, & out
Stories: I’m Going to be an Entomologist  & The ABC’s of What I Want to Be
Skills Reviewed: practice substituting middle sounds & blending letters/sounds together to make words
Robust Vocabulary Words: tame, gleaming, splendid, cautiously, festival, & explore

Math: I introduced the concept of addition, using pictures of animals and telling a story.

Our class also attended the We Really Shine Program today.

Pass Objectives: Creative skills: Standard 1, 1. Language Arts: Print Awareness: 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7 Phonological Awareness: 4, 6, 7 Vocabulary: 1 & 2.  Fluency, 1 & 2.  Comprehension, 1 & 4 Writing Process, 1,& 3. Grammar/Usage & mechanics, 1a, 1b,1c, 2a, 2b. Listening, 1 & 2

first hour- Government Students participated in teams challenging each other in Jeopardy.

second hour- U.S. History-Students participated in Twenty Questions over History.

fourth hour- Democracy- Students participated in Twenty Questions over History.

fifth hour- U.S. History- Students participated in Twenty Questions over History.

sixth hour-Alt. Ed

seventh hour-Alt.Ed.

Today was the short day for students. They were released at 1:00 today.

1st hour: 7th grade Reading

Students worked on make-up work today.

2nd & 6th hour: 6th grade English

Students needing to complete their definition assignment worked on that, others read their library book.

4th hour: 8th grade Reading

We had the We Really Shine Program. Students worked on  their science projects with what little time was left of class.

5th hour: 8th grade Reading

Students worked on make-up work or science projects.

Standard 1.1.4 read isolated words when strongly supported by visuals

Learn names of several languages and the numbers 30-60.  Learn how to communicate about the languages that they do and do not speak and write.

Students worked to complete assignments today and worked on rosetta.  today is a short class day for students

4th Grade-  The students attended the “We Really Shine” program.  The remainder of the class period, I gave the students an incentive break and they watched a movie.

4th Math and Language-  The students took their OCCT Reading test.

4th Science-  The students worked on chapter 1D lesson 3 and the chapter study guide.
