Focus- /s/ spelled ci, ce, cy, and ss. /j/ spelled ge dge and gi.

Activities- Today we did last week’s spelling and reading tests. Then we started this week’s work. We did everything in whole group. We practiced phoneme addition and counting. I introduced the phonics concept for the week and they read examples off the board. I introduced the spelling words and they wrote them in their agendas. I introduced the high-frequency words. We read our “Getting Started” story and our story of the week, “Mystery of the Night Song”.  I introduced the robust vocabulary words and we discussed their meanings and I gave examples.
