We started with the question of the day.  We took our spelling and reading tests over our story “The Bee.”  We started our new story “Watching in the Wild.”  We recognized and blended the r-controlled vowel sound air and are.  We read words with air, are, and other known letter sounds.  (2.1b, use r-controlled vowels)  We introduced the spelling words with air and are.  We identified graphic aids and read interpreted information in graphic aids.  (7.1e,use/interpret charts/maps/graphs)  We set a purpose for listening and discussed the genre of nonfiction articles.  We developed robust vocabulary through discussing a literature selection.  In grammar we identified and used forms of the verb be: am, is, are  (3.1e, use present/past tense verbs)

Math we measured lengths in centimeters and meters.  We did practice pages 323-324. (4.1a, measure objects using standard units)
