Middle School Science

6th Grade
Objective: Students continued working on their food webs. At 1:00, students were able to visit with a scientist in Antarctica. They are studying ice and sediment cores to learn about past climates. Students were able to ask the scientist questions.
PASS: Populations and Ecosystems
Reflection: The students enjoyed the visit with the scientist. I feel they were able to experience something which hopefully made them understand how important it is to take care of our Earth.

7th Grade
Objective: We began writing our experiments with our radish and rye seeds.
PASS: Diversity of Life

8th Grade
Objective:The students were able to look at some real minerals and learn about the properties of that mineral: hardness, fracture, cleavage, color, streak, and so on…..I was able to get some rocks and minerals from The Oklahoma Museum of Natural History. We also were able to see some glowing rocks.
PASS: Structure and Forces of the Earth
Reflection: I had a student come to me after class and say,” Mrs. Brown, I really like doing this stuff.”

7th Grade English
Objective: Finish writing their movie review
