Middle School Science

6th Grade
Objective: The students’ bell work was for them to think about the different seasons of the year and how their food availability changes. It took them some time and some discussion to understand the question. In the summer there are fresh vegetables, in the fall people hunt deer, in the spring some hunt turkey, berries etc……. Then we read a story about a family in Alaska and how their year consists of the food they eat. It described the many thing that they have to do to get, prepare, and eat the food! Then the students worked together on a ws about it!

7th Grade
Objective: Today we reviewed for their test tomorrow! We used the Smartboard to make sure that all the students could label the parts of an animal and plant cell!!

8th Grade
Objective: Students read an article over 2 students who won the National Science Fair last year. It described their experiments, problems, hypothesis, etc…… We discussed their notes from yesterday, watched a video over erosion, weathering, and deposition. Then students used Moodle to access 5 article over minerals and rock that they had to read and write a 2-3 summary over each one!

7th Grade English
Objective: Students continued working on their friendly letters to their guardians or parents. They each made them a Valentine’s card for Valentine’s Day!
