1st hour Clothing  Lab Day students made signs and candy suckers for  FCCLA  fundraiser.

3rd hour Chemistry of Foods students watched a video “A Scientific Look at Nutrition” and identified the main points of the video.

4th and 5th hour FACS 1 students  finished identifying the six major nutrients by powerpoint.

6th hour FACS 2 students in groups searched through recipes looking for vegetable and fruit product to make.

7th hour Family Living Students created  a poster using pictures from magazines of  families in various stages of life.


1st Hour:  Student who is creating webpage for book recommendations wrote two new entries.  Other student worked on his Greek god/goddess assignment for PRIDE.

6th Grade PRIDE: We began with the Valentine Mad Lib.  Students who were finished with their Greek god/goddess newsletter showed those to the class.  The others continued working on theirs.

5th Grade PRIDE: Same as 6th grade.

7th and 8th Grades PRIDE: We began with an Instant Challenge: Magnificent Monster.  Students had 5 minutes to use given materials to create a monster with special talents and 2 minutes to perform a short skit about their monster.  We evaluated their teamwork and creativity.  Students continued the Brainwriting activity from yesterday to generate ideas for a character who flips his/her point of view.

HS Students came to work on Botball documentation and programming.  I passed out parent information/permission slips for the movie on Saturday.

After School: Botball Meeting.  Saturday is Green Valley Conference Tournament at Heavener at 9:30 a.m., then I will take MS PRIDE students to Ft. Smith to see The Lightning Thief.

Reading we started with the question of the day.  We reviewed high-frequency words.  We recognized and blended sound ear and eer.  We read words with ear, eer, and other known letter sounds.  (2.1b, use r-controlled vowels)  We applied reading strategies to content-area reading.  We identified which reference source to use to accomplish a task.  We reviewed robust vocabulary and figured out a word’s meaning based on its context.  In grammar we recognized and wrote words that compare in sentences.  (3.1g, use adjectives)

Math we subtracted 1-digit numbers from  2-digit numbers with regrouping.  We did practice pages 279-280.

2nd Hour – Fund. Admin.  Tech:   The students worked on Cases & Places #1 and #2.   The students developed a table and a specified graph based on data that was given to them. Test will be tomorrow

3rd Hour – Accounting I:     Took the Accounts Payable Brainbench test.

4th Hour – Personal Financial Literacy:  worked on building a Thank you letter for the job posting that they found.

5th Hour – Accounting II:  completed worksheet application 12-4 calculating totals on payroll register.

6th Hour – Yearbook:    Worked on yearbook sale ad and page design

7th Hour – Fund. Admin. Tech:  The students worked on Cases & Places #1 and #2.   The students developed a table and a specified graph based on data that was given to them. Test will be tomorrow

Math:  We worked on IXL Math B29 finding the missing angles in triangles and quadralaterals.

Spelling:  Test

Reading: Worked on worksheets

English: We are finishing our stories about Things I Like and Possessive pronouns on moodle.

Science:  We did a project on moon phases with Oreo cookies.  They had to show the 8 phases of the moon with the cookies.

Social Studies:  Work on  Moodle
