1st hour Clothing  students continued working on  past assignment identifying skirt and pant styles.PASS  Language Arts – page 89 – Standard 1.4

3rd hour students worked in a group to make a dairy product- the remaining students worked to complete a crossword puzzle using the vocabulary words found in the unit.

4th and 5th hour students continued with a powerpoint of  the six major nutrients.PASS Health and Safety Education – Pg 388 – Standard 1 – #1

6th hour FACS 2 students retook a test on Eating Smart.

7th hour Family Living students identified the various stages that a family goes through over time. Language Arts – pg. 90 – Standard 2.2b


Reading we started with the question of the day.  We reviewed high-frequency words.  We recognized and blended the vowel diphthong oi and oy.  We read words with oi, oy, and other known letter sounds.  (1.1 demonstrate awareness of sounds)  We reviewed spelling words.  We used the parts of a book to locate information.  (7.1d, use book parts to locate information)  We identified the purpose for reading, such as to follow directions.  We reviewed robust vocabulary and figured out a word’s meaning based on its context.  In grammar we identified exact and inexact number words.  We used exact and inexact number words in writing.  (3.1g, use adjectives)

Math we used place-value models to regroup 2-digit numbers for subtraction.  We did practice pages 277-278. (2.c, solve 2-digit subtraction)

Math: Types of triangles  IXL lesson B2 & B27 St 4: 1

Reading:  We went to the library for a virtual field trip with Mrs. Parks.  We started on the worksheets for our story this week. The concepts and fact and opinion and proper adjectives. St 4: 1,2,3

English:  Possessive pronouns on Moodle.

Science:  We watched a video on moon phases. St 3:3

Social Studies: We did Ch 10 Lesson 1 on moodle. Then we watched a short video on Lewis and Clark. St 7:4

2nd Hour – Fund. Admin.  Tech:   The students worked on Cases & Places #1 and #2.   The students developed a table and a specified graph based on data that was given to them.

3rd Hour – Accounting I:     Took the Accounts Receivable Brainbench test.

4th Hour – Personal Financial Literacy:  worked on building a cover letter for the job posting that they found yesterday.

5th Hour – Accounting II:  completed worksheet application 12-3 calculating totals on payroll register.

6th Hour – Yearbook:    Worked on yearbook sale ad.

7th Hour – Fund. Admin. Tech:  The students worked on Cases & Places #1 and #2.   The students developed a table and a specified graph based on data that was given to them.

Math: We introduced using linking cubes to estimate & then measure objects.  The children practiced measuring objects using the cubes.

1st hr. 4th Handwriting/Spelling-Standard 3.5, 3.6. Practiced writing the letters e, j. W.S. 78 was due. I went over the different spellings for the er sound. Assigned W.S. 79-80 due tomorrow.  Test will be tomorrow.

2nd hr. 1st P.E.- Pac Man, Chinese Freeze Tag, Cowboys & Indians, Fox & Sheep.

3rd hr. 3rd P.E.- Basketball, British Warmup Tag.

4th hr. 2nd P.E.- Kickball.

5th hr. Kdg. P.E.- Ran Races.

6th hr. 4th P.E.- same as 3rd P.E.

7th hr. 4th S.S.- Standard 3: 3. p. 196 was due. Using Latitude & Longitude. Lesson Objectives: Explained latitude & longitude & found places on a map using these concepts. Assigned W.S. 39.  May work on this tomorrow.

students are working in lesson 4 of unit 2, translating and reading about clothing, where they live and learning to us ‘tener’ to have, to talk about being sick, tired, cold or hot.
