Focus Skill Sequence

Objective: To identify ways in which the sequence of events in a literary text affects the outcome

Activity: Students were assessed sequencing  skills taught this week in the reading selection, “Red Writing Hood”.

Standard Pass Objective:Standard 4. d

Objective: The students will apply a wide range of strategies to comprehend, interpret, evaluate and respond to a wide variety of   texts

Activity: Students were assessed in the understanding of the vocabulary words in the reading selection of “Red Writing Hood”. Students matched the word to the definition and used the word correctly in sentence context

Objective: To read and understand a play

Activity: Students completed moodle assignments that provided additional practice in the reading and understanding of a play and fairy tales.

Reflection: This week’s vocabulary words proved difficult for many students. As we progress in our reading curriculum and studies, the content and vocabulary will increase in difficulty. Students need encouraged to spend more time on additional practice, re-reading passages and using the words in everyday conversational opportunities.
