1st hour Clothing Lab Day  – students sewed various hand stitches and buttons.

3rd hour Chemistry of Foods students  planned menus involving dairy products.

4th and 5th hour FACS 1 students identified first aid treatments for kitchen accidents PASS Science – Pg 210 – Standard 3 – #5; Pg 220 – Standard 3 – #5

6th hour FACS 2 students researched  and evaluated a special diet. PASS Standards. Health and Safety, pg 393, Standard 4.2  Language Arts, pg 90, Standard 2.2b

7th hour Family Living  students watched a video that identified types of families and their functions.PASS Social Studies –


1st hr. 4th Handwriting/Spelling- Standard 3.5 A-D, 3.6. Practiced H.W. W.S. over Alphabet Animals. Discussed character quote- Positive Thinking. 3 times each & words in their agenda were due. I went over the rules for changing the y to i & adding er, est, & es. Assigned W.S. 70 due tomorrow.

We went down to the gym @ 8:45.

3rd- 4th basketball games with Monroe here @ 9:00.  Didn’t get started until 9:15. Ended @ 11:20.

Kdg. P.E.- Free time. It was time to go over the rules with them again!

4th P.E.- Basketball.

4th S.S.- Standard 5: 1-3. We went over W.S. 37 that was assigned yesterday. Most did real well.  Chapter 8 Lesson 2 Oklahoma Becomes a State. Lesson Objectives: Described the events that created the Twin Territories. Explained the state of Sequoyah. Described the events that created the state of Oklahoma.

Activities: Children worked on associating the sound of /w/ with “w”, & worked on the letter “W, w” on the computers.  They also worked on sounding out words, listening for medial sounds in words, & reading sentences.
Math: The children counted some of the things children have brought for the 100th Day of School celebration.

Reading we started with the question of the day.  We reviewed high-frequency words.  We blended sounds into words and spelled words that included the vowel diphthong oi and oy.  (2.1c,use diphthongs)  We reviewed robust vocabulary.  We read and wrote common word families and recognized spelling patterns.  We reviewed spelling words with oi and oy.  We used the parts of a book to locate information.  (7.1d,use book parts to locate information) We identified which reference source to use to accomplish a task.  We practiced using a dictionary, thesaurus, encyclopedia, and atlas.  (7.1a, understand reference materials)  In grammar we used exact and inexact number words in sentences.

Math we started chapter 14 “Practice and Apply 2-Digit Addition.”  We used knowledge of place value to rewrite a number sentence in vertical form.  We did practice pages 253-254.

2nd Hour – Fund. Admin.  Tech:   The students worked on completing the steps in Ch 1 for Excel 2007 and assignment was uploaded to Moodle.

3rd Hour – Accounting I:     The students completed the worksheets for Application problem 1, 2, & 3.  Test will be Tuesday.

4th Hour – Personal Financial Literacy:  The students completed a worksheet for computing wages earned and taxes.

5th Hour – Accounting II:  We Audited the reports created by  Automated Accounting “Eddie Ortega, Disc Jockey” business simulation.

6th Hour – Yearbook:   The yearbook staff worked on page designs, image resolution, scanning photos, and snapshots

7th Hour – Fund. Admin. Tech:  The students worked on completing the steps in Ch 1 for Excel 2007 and assignment was uploaded to Moodle.

Team/Individual Projects

  • 8th Grade
    • VFT Development – Quia, Moodle, iWeb, Script, Wiki, Collaboration Tools, Interactive project (wanted poster and disguises), Etc.  Lead class discussion on additional facts about Bass Reeves from Paul L. Brady’s Book – encouraged additional research to “gain deeper knowledge” of the story.
  • HS 4th/5th Hour:
  • Evergreen Teams started mini-show production in teams of 3-4
    • Lesson Objectives: students will be able to explain the roles and responsibilities of a field production team; students will be able to identity and demonstrate the use of field production equipment.  Assessment:
    • Students will be able to demonstrate how to work a digital video camera
    • Students will be able to recognize different videotape formats
    • Students will be able to explain the importance of sound and key factors in achieving quality sound
    • Students will be able to identify and use different types of lighting
    • Students will be able to identify the components that make up a video news story
    • Students will be able to identify the various compositions and movements of shots and create a shot sheet
    • Students will be able to plan and conduct a filed production
  • 4th/5th Hour:  EG Teams Students completed story proposals in Moodle; refined Interview Questions and started shooting
  • CLE Live! team 1 – story proposals completed – story research – Graphix, etc.
  • CLE Live! team 2 – Assisted on developing stories – several teams were struggling with how to approach story.  WireCast se-up tomorrow and Run-thru – show airs live on Thursday
