1st hr. 4th Handwriting/Spelling- Standard 3.5 A-D, 3.6. Practiced writing paragraph The Importance of Spelling. Discussed character quote- Love. Gave test over words ending with y & ey. Everyone passed except one student. We went over W.S. 61.

2nd hr. 1st P. E.- Dodgeball & Red Rover.

3rd hr. 3rd P.E.- Basketball.

4th hr. 2nd P.E.- Cats in the Corner, Birthday Game.

5th hr. Kdg. P.E.- Cats in the Corner.

6th hr. 4th P.E.- Basketball.

7th hr. 4th S.S.- Standard 5: 2.  Chapter 7 Lesson 3 Life on the Trails. Lesson Objectives: Gave information about the cattle trails in Oklahoma. Described life on the cattle drives.

Reading we started with the question of the day.  We reviewed high-frequency words.  We recognized and blended the sound ir, ur, er, and ear.  We read words with ir, ur, er, ear, and other known letter sounds.  (2.1b, r-controlled vowels)  We analyzed genre features and applied reading strategies to content area reading.  We reviewed robust vocabulary and figured out a word’s meaning based on its context.  In grammar we identified pronouns and used pronouns correctly in writing.

Math we reviewed writing numbers in different ways using tens and ones.  We did practice pages 215-216.

2nd Hour – Fund. Admin.  Tech:   The students had a pop quiz.  Talked about how to purchase a desktop computer then the students were able to go online and pick-out a computer that they thought would be a good purchase based on certain criteria given to them.

3rd Hour – Accounting I:    Students completed application problem 1 & 2, creating a balance sheet and income statement

4th Hour – Personal Financial Literacy:  The students completed a review of lessons 11.1 – 11.3.  Test has been postponed until Monday.

5th Hour – Accounting II: worked on  Automated Accounting “Eddie Ortega, Disc Jockey” business simulation.

6th Hour – Yearbook:   The yearbook staff worked on page designs and making an image with a transparent background

READING:

Question of the day.  What jobs do you do with other people?  Students brainstormed and discussed this question and responded orally. PASS OL1.1,2,WG2

Read ALoud.  I read “The Plan” and students listened for understanding and enjoyment.  I modeled fluency and we discusse the selection and the author’s purpose. PASS OL1.2,3.3,5.1b,4.4a

After reviewing vocabulary words, phonic skills, spelling words, and comparing and contrasting students did workbook pages 135-139 independently.

No school Friday. We will test Monday.

Math PASS – 3.2 – multiplication, 5.1 – data analysis

Students completed cursive handwriting practice upon entering the classroom. 8:30 – used smartboard tools to work on answering data analysis questions involving bar graphs and tally marks. Students answered questions related to graphs that were on the smartboard. We then used the smartboard to review repeated addition and multiplication concepts. Students then completed seat work related to data analysis and multiplication. After PE students took a 10 minute multiplication drill, students then self corrected paper to use as a study guide. We then completed math minute 39 and then we went over this as a class. Once all work was complete, students logged onto Study Island or IXL.
