Ag. Comm- The students started working on their article speech due on monday.

Animal Science- I reviewed the semester test and answered questions about the test.

8th Grade- Students worked in two groups giving the opening and closing ceremonies.

Ag. 1- Students memorized the first 4 paragraphs of the creed.

    • Reviewed the book, “Bad News for Outlaws” by Vaunda Micheaux – contacted Author for permission to read portions of the book during VFT – learned that she will actuallu be at the Museum Exhibit next Wednesday to!  Wow, so excited!

Reading we started with the question of the day.  We recognized and blended the long vowel /e/ sound of ey, y.  We read words with ey, y and other known letter sounds.  We used ey, y and other known letter sounds to spell words.  (2.1b, use short/long/r-controlled vowels)  We identified the characteristics of a genre.  We used genre to identified the author’s purpose in writing.  (5.1c, ask/respond to questions)  We developed robust vocabulary through discussing a literature selection.

Math we used place value models to regroup and find sums to 20.  We used place value to regroup to do addition with greater numbers.  We did practice pages 211-214.  (2.1a)

2nd Hour – Fund. Admin.  Tech:   The students were introducted to Virtual Box and Microsoft Office 2007

3rd Hour – Accounting I:    Students completed worksheets 7-1, creating an Income Statement

4th Hour – Personal Financial Literacy:  The students completed module 11.2 and activity 11.2 about different types of Insurance

5th Hour – Accounting II: worked on downloading Automated Accounting software and reviewed the “Eddie Ortega, Disc Jockey” business simulation.

6th Hour – Yearbook:   The staff made changes to pages based on Editor and Teacher comments.  Also worked on tagging photos.

7th Hour – Fund. Admin. Tech:   The students were introducted to Virtual Box and Microsoft Office 2007

Math: Introduced “Taller & Shorter” & “Longer & Shorter”. The children completed a w/s practicing the new skill.

1st hr. 4th Handwriting/Spelling- Standard 3. 5 A-D, 3.6. Practiced writing paragraph over Collecting Autographs. Discussed character quote- Love Caring/Overcoming Hatred. 3 times each & words in agenda were due. I went over the sound that you hear at the end of the spelling words which are spelled with a y or ey.  Assigned W.S. 61 due tomorrow.

We left for 3rd-4th basketball game with Monroe @ 8:55 & returned @ 11:50.

12:35-1:05- Kdg. P.E.- Fox & Sheep, Cowboys & Indians, Ran races.

1:10- 1:55- 4th P.E.- Basketball.

2:00- 2:50- Gave 4th a spelling bee. First place winner is Nick Stark. Runnerup is Nikki Goodin.
