Unit – Nursery Rhymes

Reviewed and recited all nursery rhymes we have learned.  Students chose their favorite nursery rhyme and drew a picture about it.  Read a short story to them about The Princess and The Pea and then colored a Princess and the Pea coloring page.  Read the book Fairy Colors and sang several fun songs.

1st hr. 4th Handwriting/Spelling- Standard 3.6 A-D, 3.6. Practiced the letter B, b. Project Wisdom Quote- Respect Laughing At Others. Went over the different spellings for the or sound. W.S. 30 was due. Everyone had finished.  Assigned W.S. 31-32 due tomorrow. Test is tomorrow.

2nd hr. 1st P.E.- Dead Ants.

3rd hr. 3rd P.E.- Basketball.

4th hr. 2nd P.E.- Dead Ants.

5th hr. Kdg. P.E.- Enjoyed the beautiful weather. We went outside.

6th hr. 4th P.E.- Basketball.

7th hrl. 4th S.S.- Standard 5: 2-3. We went over p. 54 Thinking About Vocab. & Facts. Assigned p. 78 Chapter 3 Thinking About Vocab. & Facts. We will work on this tomorrow.

Math: Pictographs IXL lesson R4, R5, and X1  St. 5: 1a,b

Reading:  Read story Folktales from Asia and worked on edutest in Reading

Science:  Some are finishing edutest & some are working on math

Social Studies: Unitedstreaming on early explorers.  Each student is doing a powerpoint on different explorers and we started on these.  They are due in 2 weeks.

2nd Hour – Fund. Admin.  Tech:  Students worked on Lesson 7 Enhancing word documents with bullets, numbering, and shading

3rd Hour – Accounting I:    Completed challenge problem 3-7 journalizing transactions and workbook pages 47-52 using source documents

4th Hour – Personal Financial Literacy: Completed a worksheet on calculating simple interest.

5th Hour – Accounting II:   Completed Ch 9-4 journalizing misc. entries. The students learned about the Purchases returns and allowances account.

6th Hour – Yearbook: The students worked on ideas and scripts for a yearbook commercial. Most students were absent from class for the fair.

7th Hour – Fund. Admin. Tech:  students worked on Lesson 7 Enhancing word documents with bullets, numbering, and shading. Most students were absent from class for the fair.

Math

Skill- Addition Concepts

Activities- Today we did Lesson 5.4 together in class.  It was a review of problem solving. We also reviewed the addition concepts that we worked on this week.  Test tomorrow.

PASS- Standard 2.2ai Use models to construct addition and subtraction facts with sums up to twenty.

Language Arts

Focus- Reading and Spelling: Variant vowel “all”.  Grammar: Asking sentences.

Activities- Today we did everything in whole group.  We reviewed our spelling  and robust vocabulary words. We practiced identifying  the ending sounds in words.  We read their story, “All on the Map”, chorally. We reviewed the Kindergarten and First grade high-frequency words.  We reviewed contractions and did a worksheet.  They did a phonics worksheet and a high-frequency word worksheet.  We also reviewed asking sentences and they did a paper.
